The most common applications for ultrasound of the hip are the detection of tendon and muscle injuries, the identification of an effusion or synovitis within the hip joint or surrounding bursa, or imaging guidance for various procedures about the hip. The goal of the lecture is to describe and review the anatomy, pathology, and common ultrasound guided interventions about the hip.
