This lecture reviewing forefoot ultrasound will first discuss interdigital neuromas, reviewing anatomy, pathology, and the ultrasound appearance. A protocol for ultrasound evaluation will be included emphasizing the dynamic Mulder maneuver. The next topics will include ultrasound of the plantar plate and fractures. The final topics will review of infection and inflammation, including gout, as well as ultrasound evaluation of forefoot masses.

Describe the complex anatomy of forefoot structures.
Recognize key ultrasound features of forefoot disorders, shuch as intermetatarsal neuroma/bursa, plantar plate tears, and crystalline arthropathy.
Recognize normal variants that may mimic pathology.
