Selecting appropriate ultrasound imaging parameter settings is an important step in maximizing the quality of ultrasound scans. Oftentimes, parameters are set to "preset" conditions that may generally produce good images, but such presets do not customize parameter settings in each patient or adapt to changes in the imaging environment. For this work, we present methods to automatically adjust acoustic output and frequency during B-mode and color Doppler imaging to ensure these settings are helping to optimize ultrasound quality. The methods we will introduce rely on continuous monitoring of various image quality metrics and updates to parameter settings targeting desired metric quality levels.
