POCUS is broadly used to evaluate MSK complaints in office-based outpatient practices such as Rheumatology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Primary Care, and Physical Therapy. Traditional POCUS has significant shortcomings in the MSK arena which ultra-high-frequency (UHF) ultrasound can potentially address. This lecture will review the reasons why UHF POCUS is well-suited to integration in an MSK clinical practice, describe the advantages offered by UHF POCUS, and consider some of the needs of an MSK practice that remain unmet even by current UHF POCUS technology. Attendees will become able to evaluate their need for this technology and consider where it might fit in their practice.
