Currently, there is a lack of studies illustrating a clear display of RLN via ultrasound in a living subject. In this work, we investigate the ultrasound structure of Recurrent Laryngeal Nerves (RLN) in radical surgery for thyroid cancer and make a further understanding of the ultrasound features of RLN. We found that ultrasound clearly displays the structural features of the RLN, and the internal architecture of the RLN to be composed of multiple hypoechoic parallel but discontinuous linear hyperechoic areas separated by bands.
