Acute pancreatitis is rare in childhood and duodenal duplication cysts are rare mechanical causes of recurrent acute pancreatitis in pediatric population. Since standard treatment of choice of duodenal duplication cysts is surgical removal, regardless of being symptomatic or asymptomatic, due to the potential risk of malignant transformation and complications of ectopic gastric mucosa such as bleeding and perforation and also for relieving symptoms and preventing common complications such as pancreatitis, diagnosis of duodenal duplication cysts is extremely important. Ultrasound is useful in the diagnosis of duaodenal duplication cysts with highly suggestive signs such as double layer sign and real-time peristaltis in the cyst wall.
