Emergency Medicine residency is full of learning opportunities, especially in ultrasound, but how do you find what is right for you? How can we engage residents to enhance their administrative ultrasound skills and educational prowess? Can residents begin preparing for fellowship in their final years? With an innovative new role titled the Resident Director of Ultrasound Education residents can not only participate in advanced scanning opportunities, they can experience a miniature fellowship style leadership role. From medical student education to resident advanced track leadership, residents in this role can work on their administrative skills and find a niche within ultrasound prior to starting fellowship. This can also potentially be used to encourage engagement from junior residents in ultrasound activities that are not otherwise required.
