Presented here is a case report of a 22-year-old, 8 week gravid patient who came to the ED with complaints of occasional vaginal bleeding and a report of an abnormal outpatient clinic ultrasound. Using POCUS, ER providers were able to rapidly diagnose the patient with a molar pregnancy. This allowed them to further patients care by referring her to an obstetric specialty team who confirmed the diagnosis, leading to definitive care via dilatation and curettage. POCUS proved to be an invaluable resource in this patient’s case, allowing quick identification of pathology and specialty referral, while limiting excessive testing and ED length of stay.
