POCUS is a highly useful clinical tool in PEM, particularly in resuscitations and cases of undifferentiated shock. With increased focused training, PEM fellows are becoming increasingly proficient in POCUS, but require additional training to integrate these skills at the bedside of a critically ill child. We addressed this knowledge gap through the implementation of a longitudinal PEM fellow simulation curriculum integrating high-fidelity resuscitative ultrasound, using the Edus2J program. Evaluation of this curriculum is ongoing and will include longitudinal tracking of fellows’ comfort level and motivation to use POCUS in the clinical setting, as well as their progress in achieving POCUS credentialing.
