Boost your POCUS education skills in the area of assessment. This session is designed to simultaneously present original research on providing validity evidence for a specific POCUS assessment while also being instructive in the methods and types of validity evidence that are applicable in POCUS education assessments on a broader scale. There will be a discussion on why providing validity evidence is important and how it supports our educational claims. We will begin with specific objectives common to POCUS education. Next we will tie those objectives to different assessments designed to measure those specific objectives. Followed by a demonstration of the different types of validity evidence that can be provided for those specific assessments. Lastly a discussion about establishing a pass/fail cutoff that is evidence based and meaningful for our learners.
