The prevalence of WRMSDs among sonographers has remained close to 90% for over 30 years. Personal responsibility, education, and engineering have been purported as the solutions to the problem, and yet the epidemic has continues with no reduction in the prevalence. This research is a first of its kind to look at burnout as a contributing factor to WRMDs. It explores the relationship between the conditions and looks at the role of both conditions compared to sonographer early career exit.
