Undifferentiated soft tissue and musculoskeletal concerns make up a large proportion of Emergency Department visits. Clinical exam and/or serum blood work in isolation, have often been shown to be of low accuracy, inferior methods of evaluation for many critical diagnoses, including that of the pseudoaneurysm. There are four hallmark signs of a pseudoaneurysm that be identified rapidly on point-of-care ultrasound, which can change the course of management, subsequently allowing for avoidance of those interventions with high morbidity and potential mortality. The author presents a case that will improve the accuracy of this often unassuming diagnosis.
