In our presented case, the use of transvaginal ultrasound allowed for a rapid and accurate diagnosis of CSP, facilitating prompt decision-making regarding appropriate therapeutic interventions. Timely surgical management, considering the patient's individual circumstances and preferences, ultimately led to a successful outcome.
Our case highlights the importance of accurate, systematic ultrasound evaluation especially when encountering rare pathologies, such as this case of a heterotopic cesarean scar pregnancy. Ultrasound evaluation of prior hysterotomy should be considered in all patients with a history of prior cesarean scar pregnancy at confirmation of pregnancy ultrasound.
