Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are frequently used for infraorbital volumization and rejuvenation procedures. Unfortunately, there has been a rise in periorbital complications, including contour irregularities, lumps, and chronic edema. We review infraorbital ultrasound anatomy and factors contributing to the development of these complications. We describe the use of high-resolution ultrasound for precise anatomic diagnosis and our treatment method of ultrasound-guided hyaluronidase injections in different tissue layers, and in particular in the retroseptal space.
