Explore an innovative approach to ultrasound education at McGovern Medical School, where our hands-on ultrasound teaching sessions have empowered second-year medical students (a cohort of over 240 students annually). This dynamic teaching approach integrates faculty-led demonstrations, clinical examinations (such as mastering the ankle exam), and hands-on practice using advanced medical mannequins. The success of our program is supported by concrete evidence, including pre-and post-session assessments, which gauge skill improvement and assess the ability of students to identify pathology in ultrasound images. Moreover, we have conducted satisfaction surveys, garnering invaluable insights from our residents, who have played a crucial role in facilitating this teaching experience. Their perspectives highlight the benefits they've derived from both mentorship and the educational components of our program. Join us at UltraCon 2024 to delve into this initiative, which not only achieves its objectives but also transforms medical education, instilling confidence and competence in the next generation of healthcare professionals.
