An international expert panel arrived as consensus guidelines for the diagnosis and management of vasa previa. The following were agreed on: All pregnant patients should be screened for vasa previa. Definition of vasa previa should not be limited to vessels 2 cm from the internal os. Outpatient management is reasonable for asymptomatic low risk patients with vasa previa. Patients with vasa previa should be delivered by cesarean between 35 and 37 weeks.
