My name is Alexis Carmine, currently in my final year at George Washington University, where I'm pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Alongside my studies, I serve as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department in Maryland. Upon graduation, I'm set to join Dr. Frank's Lab at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for a Postbaccalaureate program, aiming to bridge this experience into entering a MD program in the future. My current research focuses on exploring how ultrasound can influence melatonin release. Previously, I've dedicated time to studying the impact of various insecticides on the cognitive health of honeybees. I look forward to my future endevours in research and learning as much as I can in the process.
