Dr. Mark T. Burgess is an Assistant Attending Physicist in the Department of Medical Physics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) where he focused on ultrasound clinical support and research. His work involves the development and implementation of new techniques, optimization of imaging protocols, and quality analysis. To achieve these objectives, he collaborates across disciplines with engineers, physicists, radiologists, cardiologists, medical and radiation oncologists, and other clinicians at MSK. His research interests are the development of quantitative imaging biomarkers for oncology with advanced ultrasound imaging techniques and an ultrasound-guided focused ultrasound system for clinical applications of therapeutic ultrasound, such as drug delivery, immunotherapy, and tissue ablation.
