Dr. Shelly Thai is a dedicated third-year Obstetrics and Gynecology resident who is deeply committed to women's health and well-being. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Dr. Thai developed a passion for medicine from a young age, fueled by a desire to make a positive impact on his/her community.
After completing undergraduate studies at University of Chicago, she pursued a medical degree at Downstate College of Medicine, where she excelled academically and demonstrated a keen interest in obstetrics and gynecology. Inspired by the complexities and nuances of women's health, She then embarked on her residency journey at Mount Sinai South Nassau, where she honed clinical skills and gained invaluable experience in delivering comprehensive care to women at all stages of life.
Throughout her residency, Dr. Thai has shown a particular interest in maternal-fetal medicine, driven by a desire to ensure the health and safety of both mother and baby during pregnancy and childbirth.
In addition to her focus on maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Thai is deeply passionate about mental health in medicine, recognizing the profound impact it has on both patient outcomes and overall well-being of the community. She is committed to advocating for mental health awareness and integrating holistic approaches into patient care to address both physical and psychological needs.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Thai enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the vibrant culture and diverse culinary scene of New York City, and staying active through outdoor activities
