Amauri Amorin Assef (Member, IEEE) received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Curitiba, Brazil, in 1999. He received his M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees in Science & Biomedical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), Curitiba, Brazil, in 2006 and 2013, respectively. Since 2021, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering (DAELT) at the UTFPR, where he was an Assistant Professor from 2009 and 2020. From 2015 and 2020, he was with the Graduate Program on Energy Systems (PPGSE) and since 2020 with the Graduate Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering (CPGEI) at the UTFPR, where he is Advisor of Studies for Biomedical Engineering. He is also a coordinator and a team member of various research projects funded by Brazilian development agencies and private businesses.
