Dr. Stephen Erickson, MD, FAAFP, RMSK is a family practice physician at Jefferson Healthcare in Pt. Townsend, WA. He has spent his career practicing rural, full-spectrum family medicine. Dr Erickson has been an enthusiastic scanner, teacher, and advocate for point of care ultrasound for over 20 years, and continues to be amazed by its potential to improve bedside care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Erickson has helped develop and implement multi-specialty POCUS training, credentialing, and quality assurance pathways at his local health system. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of the University of Washington School of Medicine, and the Washington State University Medical School. He also serves as a senior instructor for Global Ultrasound Institute. He has also has been involved in clinical development research for handheld ultrasound devices. When not scanning, he enjoys sailing, traveling, and a broad array of outdoor activities.
