Dr. Hsiao-Chuan Liu served as a research scientist at Taipei Veterans General Hospital from 2007 to 2015 under the supervision of Dr. Yi-Hong Chou, MD, and Dr. Chui-Mei Tiu, MD. He pursued his PhD in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California from 2015 to 2019 under the supervision of Dr. K. Kirk Shung. In 2019, he was a research fellow at Mayo Clinic under the guidance of Dr. Matthew W. Urban. Subsequently, in 2020, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Rochester. In 2022, Dr. Liu transitioned to the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California (USC), where he currently holds the position of Research Assistant Professor. Additionally, he has partially joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Liu's research interests encompass acoustic radiation force, optical coherence elastography, ultrasound elastography, single processing, acoustic tweezers, elastic wave theory, machine learning and the translation of ultrasound and optical technologies into clinical applications.
