This session will discuss the significance of standard obstetric ultrasound imaging throughout pregnancy and focus on enhancing these images through an evidence-based approach. The presentation will address the grave implications of preterm births, including high rates of mortality, morbidity, and long-term neurological issues that significantly affect families and society. It underscores the limited success of extensive research efforts in decreasing the incidence of preterm birth. Emphasizing the utility of transvaginal ultrasound in measuring cervical length, the talk will illustrate its effectiveness in predicting preterm births and forming preventive strategies. Details on when and how to correctly perform cervical length assessments with transvaginal ultrasound will be explained.
