This session will provide an expert review of the sonographic examination of a patient with liver cirrhosis and advanced techniques that will help to differentiate a healthy liver from compensated cirrhosis or fatty infiltration. A detailed review of elastography and fat quantification techniques and updates in the utilization of these applications in current practice will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe imaging findings seen in patients with compensated and decompensated liver cirrhosis and common complications.
  • Discuss elastography and fat quantification scanning technique and current protocols.
  • Explain updates in the utilization of elastography and fat quantification in the general population in a patient with liver cirrhosis.
