Contrast enhanced ultrasound guided high intensity ultrasound has been shown to successfully guide treatment and achieve hemostasis of liver lacerations in an open abdomen swine model. This approach may provide a noninvasive and readily available treatment for trauma patients with solid organ lacerations.
