Dr. Kathleen L. Vincent, MD, is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas and is board certified in Ob/Gyn by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed her Doctorate of Medicine and Ob/Gyn residency at UTMB after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. She has conducted imaging research with the biomedical engineering group at UTMB since medical school with the same mentor for over 25 years and understands the need for strong mentorship and medical education. She is a mentor and the faculty sponsor of a proliferative research club at UTMB and engages trainees in her work in both research and clinical applications of ultrasound in reproductive and pelvic floor health. She is funded to utilize 3D and high resolution ultrasound to assist development of devices that deliver medications to prevent HIV, STDs and pregnancy via vaginal rings and bioresorbable subcutaneous implants.
