Alexandra Pizarro, DO is a board-certified emergency medicine physician serving as the co-director of resident ultrasound education for the Emergency Medicine Residency and core faculty for the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship at WellSpan York Hospital. She obtained her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill and completed both her emergency medicine residency and advanced emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship at WellSpan York Hospital.
Dr. Pizarro has a passion for ultrasound education with a strong interest in research. She enjoys using innovative models, such as gamification, to improve engagement and retention. Most recently, she combined high-yield toxicology and ultrasound topics to design an escape room, blending hands-on learning with immersive scenarios. Additionally, she is actively involved in research and is spearheading a project comparing pulmonary embolism risk stratification tools, showcasing her dedication to advancing medical knowledge in the field.
